Reasons to outsource your IT with Passkey and forget the inhouse headache.

I wrote this up for a client of mine a few months back.  I just recieved a nice compliment on it.  I thought I’d share it with all of you.

•             You will never pay us to do Facebook, play fantasy football, read the news, etc.

•             You will never pay us to sit around and talk for 10-20 minutes at a clip or more.

•             If something takes extra-long or we feel like we’ve spun our wheels, we credit it.  If an in-house runs person into that….they don’t invite you to take it off their paycheck!

•             If you spend a ton of time getting us trained in, we won’t leave for another job.

•             You never pay us for all the research we do to stay current.

•             You don’t pay for all the day to day knowledge we gain setting up equipment and troubleshooting at other clients.

•             You will never find us to be impatient, rude, play favorites, or resent ownership or fellow employees.

•             You have a far lower risk of us becoming disgruntled and damaging your system or being tempted into a data breach scenario.

•             You won’t take a chance on our personality, you know us.

•             We’re not there often enough to be involved in interoffice politics/create tension…

•             You won’t find us taking chances on things we don’t understand.

•             You don’t pay for our long lunch.

•             You don’t pay us overtime or have to beg to get us down there on a Saturday.

•             We’re insured.

•             We are a part of your team with all of the benefit and none of the headache.

Cloud Computing article

One of my long-term Insurance Agency clients requested I send her a copy of the “Cloud Computing” article I wrote for the Minnesota Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers Association a couple months ago.  This is my first article since joining the MIIAB automation committee.  I wrote it with two other committee members.  I hope you get a chance to read it.  The “cloud” a confusing and quickly changing topic.  We did our best to sift through some of the myths and outline true pros and cons.  Just after this request I heard that the South Dakota chapter of the IIA has requested to re-print the article in their monthly newsletter.  We were all honored.  I decided it would be great to share it with all of you.

Cloud Computing or “hosted” solutions are nothing new.  We’ve been supporting, recommending and working with them for 5+ years.  What is new is the immense hype, and even worse, the sales rhetoric, which at times becomes comical.  Hosted technology can make a ton of sense for some and zero sense for others.

We follow these technologies on a daily basis.  Discuss them with other business owners and decision makers, debate them with our peers, listen to salespeople, and evaluate solutions as they evolve.

As you read all of the latest press and opinion pieces, whether it’s about compliance, cloud computing, disaster recovery and uptime, or just reviews on the best new laptop…  Keep us in mind.  Because we are watching too.  Ready to help you get the best/right technology.
